As we get ready to welcome Dr. Andreas Laupacis as CMAJ’s new Editor in Chief, I would be remiss if I did not take an opportunity to thank and recognize Dr. Diane Kelsall who, for the last three and a half years, has held the role of CMAJ Interim Editor in Chief.
During her tenure, Diane has led her team in the transformation of CMAJ, strengthening its voice in health policy and supporting its recognition as a world class medical journal.
We appreciate Diane for her vision and pursuit of innovation, particularly in the rebranding and restructuring of CMAJ and the CMAJ Group, which included the realization of numerous process efficiencies and cost savings.
We are grateful for everything Diane has done to increase the profile of CMAJ within the medical community but also with patients, governments and policy makers. Thanks to Diane and the team, CMAJ content has been behind some of the most stimulating debates making news today.
And, we will remember Diane as a charismatic leader who built a devoted, engaged and high-functioning team―steering it through uncharted, and at times, turbulent waters with grace and good humour.
On behalf of everyone at Joule and CMAJ, I thank Diane for her leadership, passion and dedication. It has been a true pleasure to serve with her and we wish her the very best in her future endeavours.
